Information Management Specialist

Weaving between teams, Katie is currently an Information Management Specialist as part of the Knowledge & Learning Team. Katie joined Artefactual in 2022 and completed her dual masters degree in Archival Studies and Library Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. Having experience providing peer-to-peer learning in University settings, as well as working on projects pertaining to research access portals, she is excited to work with Artefactual in helping customers meaningfully preserve cultural memory in digital environments.

Katie would like to acknowledge that part of her privilege comes from working and learning as an uninvited guest on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She has come here by way of the unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) Peoples. Focusing her studies within the First Nations Curriculum Concentration, Katie seeks to support community resilience, meaningful reciprocity, and the disruption of colonial systems of power that have historically been embedded in cultural memory and collecting institutions.
