Raven Germain

Raven joined the team at Artefactual in 2023 to assist with hosted AtoM and Archivematica product development, support, and service management and delivery. She holds a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining Artefactual, Raven worked as a Web Archivist at the Internet Archive where she supported web archiving and digital preservation programs. She is thrilled to continue supporting the preservation efforts of libraries, archives, and other memory institutions through her new role. In her spare time, she can be found reading (especially anything science fiction, fantasy, or classics) and spending as much time outside as possible.

Raven lives and works in Edmonton, Alberta (also known as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan), located within Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation, Region 4. A traditional gathering place for diverse indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/ Anishinaabe, Inuit, and many others, she is grateful to these peoples who continue to live on these lands and whose histories, languages, and cultures enrich our community.
