Sarah Romkey

Sarah has worked for Artefactual Systems since 2014, as a systems archivist, program manager, and now Head of Hosting and SaaS Products. In this role she is responsible for maintaining and growing our hosted products and ensuring they are the best they can be for our customers. As part of this role she oversees the Maintainers team who maintain the AtoM and Archivematica code bases. Before working for Artefactual Sarah cut her teeth as an archivist in the Rare Books and Special Collections division of the UBC Library, after graduating from the iSchool at UBC with dual Masters in Archival Studies and Library and Information Studies.

Sarah lives and works in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq. The Peace and Friendship treaties, signed between the Mi'kmaq and British officials from 1725 onward, did not surrender land but offered to share resources and live in peace, and Sarah is grateful to count herself as a settler Treaty person on this land.
