This week the AtoM User Forum reached a milestone of 2,000 members! The forum has been an open and vibrant community of worldwide AtoM users since 2008. It is a rich resource of shared knowledge for people getting started with AtoM, advanced users wanting advice from others, and individuals installing the software. If you have a question about AtoM, there’s a good chance you’ll find it in one of the forum discussions!
Sarah Mason, Artefactual’s Contributor Success Specialist, says “it is exciting to see the AtoM community is growing and thriving. The AtoM Forum is a great example of a welcoming and supportive community built around open source software. I am looking forward to fostering the developer community and bringing them together with the user community. It’s the community that helps make AtoM great open source software.”
AtoM is an open source, web-based application for standards based archival description and access. If you are already using AtoM, or interested in using AtoM, the User Forum is a great place to start. More information and the code of conduct can be found here.
History nerds can check out Artefactual founder Peter van Garderen’s first post at this link. If you’re not a member of the Forum all you need to do is register. All are welcome.
