You asked and we listened; you wanted to know more about what we are working on and we agree. Knowing our plans helps you plan. As of today, we are reintroducing our roadmaps for AtoM and Archivematica. In these roadmaps you’ll find what we are currently doing, what we’re planning to do next, and what we are trying to make decisions about for future plans.

Both roadmaps are maintained in their respective GitHub wikis: the AtoM repository and the Archivematica Issues repository. These roadmaps utilise a Now-Next-Later format. This allows us to communicate our work openly, while maintaining flexibility and the ability to make new discoveries to support the project. Rather than being time bound, we acknowledge the complexity of software development and the need to be innovative and product led.

Further information on what we put into the Now, Next, and Later categories can be found alongside the roadmaps. We will be reviewing them every three (3) months and after a major release. We hope to see these roadmaps grow over time, and also reflect the work of community contributors.

We are excited to bring the roadmaps back to the community. And we hope you are too.
